PHYSICS COMPUTING LAB

Physics Computing Lab Resources

The Physics Computing Lab is maintained by the Physics Department and the Center for Experimental Computation (CEC).

Laser002 is a networked Kyocera Mita FS-3830N. All computers in the Physics Computing Lab can access laser002 over the network.

Hardware:

  • 11 Windows PCs
  • Several dual boot with Linux
  • Scanner
  • Printer
  • All PCs have CD-RW

 

Both Windows and Linux have the following software:

  • Latex (TeXLive)/Winshell
  • Matlab 6.5
  • Mathematica 5.0
  • Office XP
  • Ghostscript 7.05
  • Web browsers
  • Utilities
  • Media players

Windows also has MS Visual Studio.NET 2003 and Linux has Gnucompiler and Mozilla.
