Travel

Location of Cochin Cochin is well connected to all major cities in India. The Cochin airport is located about 30 km from the city.

Participants travelling with non-Indian passports are responsible for obtaining a valid passport and VISA. Consult your local Indian Embassy/Consulate for documents. Upon request, organizers will issue a letter of invitation for attending the symposium. Participants are required to make sure that their health insurance is covered during foreign travel.

Travel Tips

Given that flights from India tend to get sold out in August, tickets need to be purchased early. The airfare to Delhi from US tends to be cheaper due to availability of the large number of airlines serving the Delhi route.
The airport code of Cochin (Kochi) is COK.

The symposium will be held in the hotel Taj Malabar in Cochin. Accommodation will be arranged during pre-registration. The registration fee does not include accommodation. Accommodation expenses are to be paid during the conference. USD = United States Dollars. INR = India Rupees = Rs.

Cochin, India: Originally built by the Portuguese, and located on the West coast of India, Cochin is the commercial and industrial capital of a state popularly known as God’s Own Land. With magnificent scenic beauty of clear and seemingly endless sapphire sea, this is an attractive city with serene back-waters, lagoons overhung with feathery coconut palms and picturesque islands.

The tourist season in this area begins in mid August and carries on through May. The weather in these months is usually dry with pleasant cool breezes. Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets and Parishath Thampuran Museum are some of the interesting places worth visiting.
