Tools in Biomolecular Informatics and Protein Simulations

We will first present major sources of information for biological macromolecules as available on the Internet with respect to homology modeling of protein structures. Usefulness and limitations of protein structure prediction by means of comparative methods are assessed. In the second part of the talk we will then give an introduction to the SMMP program package as a tool for computer simulations of protein molecules. We list recent applications of SMMP in protein simulations.
