Spectroscopy Applications for Studying Atmospheric Phenomena

I will present several experimental techniques and custom designed apparatus developed in our laboratory for investigating atmospheric phenomena. We use spectroscopic methods ranging from emission to Raman spectroscopy for diagnostics of gas transport at atmospheric pressure and kinetics and chemistry of aerosols. The aerosols were created by custom designed droplet generator based on thermo-jet technology. Emission spectroscopy was used to measure loss of gas in enclosed container as a result of diffusion through seals. The unique Raman spectrometer will be applied for diagnostic of aerosols.
