PIEZOACTUATION AND OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES IN PZN-PT

Piezoelectric response of a crystal greatly depends on the applied electric field. We have developed a numerical technique using finite difference method to determine the distribution of fields in piezoelectric PZN-PT [(1-x) Pb(Zn_1/3Nb_2/3)O_3-x PbTiO₃)] . An overview of current work on Optical waveguides and light modulation in PZN-PT will also be presented.
