Growth of Adhesive Cubic Phase Boron Nitride Thin Films
Cubic phase boron nitride (c-BN) has a band gap of 6 eV and is second in hardest
only to diamond. It is chemically more stable than diamond, and can be doped
in both
p- and n- types. Thus c-BN is more useful for hard coatings, photonics devices,
and
wide band gap electronic devices. However, the growth of c-BN films required
in-situ
bombardment of massive ions of Ar and Kr. As a result, most c-BN films deposited
to
date are poor in adhesion and are not useful. We can grow adhesive c-BN films
without Ar ion bombardments. Further, we succeeded to grow c-BN in vacuum by
pulsed-laser deposition. These results will be discussed in the presentation.

RCI Calculations of Energy Levels of Mo V J=0
When dealing with many-electron atomic systems, the relativistic and many-body
effects must be included simultaneously. The Relativistic Configuration Interaction
(RCI) method fulfills this task. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction
of
the RCI method. As an illustration, will talk about the RCI calculation of
energy
levels of Mo V J=0. Topics will include the construction of radial space, energy
correlation contributions, important correlation configurations and second
order
effects.
