PURPOSE: Illustrates angular momentum at different radius.

DESCRIPTION: Masses fly off of a rotating turntable carrying away angular momentum. A Pasco turntable is attached to a DC power supply. Place masses (rubber Stoppers) equidistant between axis and outer edge. Slowly turn up voltage (Rotation rate) and observe the order in which the masses slide off.

SUGGESTIONS: Caution should be taken to watch for flying masses.

EQUIPMENT: Pasco turntable, DC power supply, and 2 or 3 of the same size rubber stoppers.
