PURPOSE: To demonstrate conservation of vector angular momentum.

DESCRIPTION: Attach a hoverpuck to a ring stand using the low friction attachment stored with the hoverpuck. Give the hoverpuck a push and several rotations of the puck can be completed before the system loses its energy and stops.

SUGGESTIONS: This is best done on a smooth flat floor. The floor on the stage in 135 can be a problem is certain spots.

EQUIPMENT: Hoverpuck, low friction attachment, ring stand, and a video camera for a large class.
