PH345 Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics (0-4-0) s
Course Description:
First and second laws of thermodynamics, phase equilibrium, and
thermodynamic potentials. Microscopic formulation of the laws of
thermodynamics including the statiscal development of the concept of
entropy. The Maxwell-Boltzmann, Bose-Eistein, and Fermi-Dirac distributions
are introduced and related to physical problems.
