Nanowires, Nanobelts, and Novel Nanostructures

In addition to carbon and boron nitride nanotubes, nanostructures of wide band gap oxide and nitride materials are prospective for future nanoelectronic, nanophotonics, and nanomagnetic devices. Images of ZnO nanostructures grown in the laboratory are shown as follows (click images to enlarge):
