About

My research interests still evolve. Recent work has been in atmospheric physics e.g., cloud, aerosol, and precipitation, radar meteorology, and satellite imaging. Also, statistical physics, optics, astrophysics and fluid mechanics.  The research is supported mostly by the National Science Foundation.

Former Ph.D. students: Larry Coke (defended 1994 - Fluid Dynamics); John Kwiatkowski (1995 - Radar Meteorology); Alan Koivunen (1999 - Radar Signal Processing);  Weidong Yang (2004 - astronomical optics, holography);  M. L. Larsen (2006, fluctuation phenomena in atmospheric physics), Amalia Anderson (2010: climatological time series analysis)
