******** MAIN FILES ***********

Flash (640 x 520):

Pendulum_POV.swf
Pendulum_POV.exe
Pendulum_Profile.swf
Pendulum_Profile.exe

QuickTime (640 x 480):

Pendulum_Profile.mov
Pendulum_Profile.mov

******** DEPENDENT FILES FOR FLASH ***********

Pendulum_POV.html
Pendulum_POV.flv
Pendulum_Profile.html
Pendulum_Profile.flv
AC_RunActiveContent.js
(Detects the browser type and version and
corrects the coding for Internet Explorer 6)
MojaveExternalNoVol.swf
	(Provides the video playback controls.)

******** QuickTime Desktop Playback ***********

Client Requirements:

Recent QuickTime Player.

******** Standalone Flash ***********

Client Requirements:

Windows Operating System.

Playback Instructions:

1. Keep all files together (SWF, EXE, FLV).

2. Double-click the EXE file to launch.

3. Do "View > Full Screen" (optional).

4. Press "Esc" to resume native size.

******** Flash for Web ***********

Use this to provide a consistent playback method and
to lower the download file size requirement, in lieu
of posting QuickTime online. Flash Player has a single
codec requirement, which is met by the Flash Player
version requirement. Flash video (FLV) can be integrated
with Flash animation. The FLV encoding is about 25% the
size of QuickTime for about the same quality.

A. Web Authoring Requirements:

Any operating system.
Browser with Flash Player 8 or higher installed.
Javascript enabled browser.

Web Posting Instructions:

1. Keep all files together (SWF, JS, FLV, HTML).

2. Either use the existing HTML file, or copy and
paste the SCRIPT items from the header and body into
another web page.

3. Provide online link for your client to the free Flash Player
(optional):
<a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get Adobe Flash Player</a>

4. Provide online link for your client to check their Flash Player
version (optional);
<a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/">Version 8 or Higher Required: CHECK MY VERSION </a>

5. Post everything on the webserver and TEST IT. Not all
webservers are configured to play back Flash Video.

6. NOTE: The HTML scripts are for embedding the Flash media
in a web page including specified parameters. The SWF file itself
can be displayed directly in a browser. It will resize to
fill the browser window.

B. Webserver Requirements:

FLV mime type required.
System administrator see "Configuring your server for FLV files":
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/main/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Parts&file=00001040.html

NOTE: Physics webserver and WebCT server are different.
Most departments have different webservers.

C. Web Client Requirements:

Most or all operating systems are supported.
Browser with Flash Player 8 or higher installed.
Javascript enabled browser.

******** Add Flash to PowerPoint ***********

1. Place the main SWF, dependent SWF, and dependent FLV
files on the computer with the PPT file. It is safest
to place them all in the same folder.

2. Follow the instructions for adding the main SWF to PPT:

http://nano.mtu.edu/ppt.htm#swf

You must "Add a Shockwave Flash Control to a Slide"

AND

"Connect to the Shockwave Flash Animation File".

3. IMPORTANT: Test on the computer you will use for your presentation.
Read Fragile Link Alert and Testing:

http://nano.mtu.edu/ppt.htm

******** Launch Flash Executable from PowerPoint ***********

Do this if you can't add Flash to PPT, or if the Flash file
doesn't fit in the PPT page. This is a good alternative method
if you don't know what computer your presentation will be running on.

1. Place the contents of the "Standalone Flash" subfolder needed
somewhere on the computer running PPT for your presentation. It is safest
to place them all in the same folder.

2. Follow the instructions for launching the EXE file
from PPT:

http://nano.mtu.edu/ppt.htm#exe

You can use any image as a button to launch the executable.

3. IMPORTANT: Test on the computer you will use for your presentation.
The executable only runs on Windows computers.
Read Fragile Link Alert and Testing:

http://nano.mtu.edu/ppt.htm

******** Display Flash Executable during PowerPoint ***********

Do this if you can't launch Flash from PPT, or if you want to run
your Flash animation fullscreen. This is a good alternative method
if you don't know what computer your presentation will be running on.

1. Place the contents of the "Standalone Flash" subfolder needed
somewhere on the computer running PPT for your presentation.

2. Launch the standalone EXE player. Launch PPT.

3. Follow the instructions for Switching from PPT to Windows Applications:

http://www.nano.mtu.edu/ppt.htm#other

4. IMPORTANT: Practice using the Alt+Tab method to display other
Windows applications during the presentation.
